Entries are now open for the two Farr 40 Mini Regattas, which will be hosted by Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron on Saturday 29 October and Saturday 3 December.

RSYS will conduct racing outside Sydney Heads for Etchells and Farr 40s. RSYS intend to run three windward-leeward races per day, with the Farr 40s having a separate start to Etchells. As these events are not counted towards the Australian F40 Circuit pointscore, there will be no requirement for weigh-ins or sail button declarations to enter these events. It will be purely a matter of entering the Mini Regatta, turning up at the start line on the race day, and enjoying some fast One Design racing.

    Notes to accompany Sailing Instructions:
    – Refer SI 2.1: F40s will participate in the “MINA” events as casual entrants (refer Sailing Instructions) with a racing area on the Manly Circle, outside Sydney Heads. In the event of adverse weather, racing may be moved to inside the Harbour or abandoned. Entrants will be given early warning of the possibility of re-location of the Course Area, and the entry fee will not be charged in the event racing is abandoned for weather reasons.
    – Refer SI 7.6: Farr 40 racing will be conducted for less than five F40 entrants, at the discretion of the Race Officer. In the event of low entries, owners will be contacted prior to race day.
    – F40s will have a separate start to the Etchell fleet. The Farr 40 Warning Signal for Race 1 on each day will be at 1220hrs (before the Etchell fleet start) and identified by the Farr 40 class flag.
    – Refer SI 4: The course will be as outlined in the Sailing Instructions. F40s will use the same marks as Etchells, with a Finish line on the opposite side of the Committee Vessel from the Start Line.
    – It is the practice of RSYS to communicate with fleets via VHF radio (channel 69), as outlined in the SIs. RSYS endeavour to keep all fleets fully informed of the Race Officer’s intentions, and to make racing as easy and pleasant as possible for competitors.
    – Prizes for the Mini Series events will be awarded at the Farr 40 Australian Circuit Prizegiving (held last day of Nationals) on 18 March 2012.

Entries are due one week prior to the Race Date.

Note that for these events, there will be no restrictions to crew weight or sail selection. Therefore F40 will not be conducting a weigh-in for the events, nor collecting sail button information. However each boat will be required to hold a One Design certificate and current insurance (as outlined in the Race Documents), and comply with YA Special Regulations Category 4. To participate, simply complete the entry form, attach your Cat 4 Audit form, and submit to RSYS by the required date.
