    TWO WINS FOR BARKING MAD

Whilst Nightshift, Enfant Terrible and Barking Mad remain the regatta leaders, the remainder of the fleet are starting to move.  Groovederci took third place in Race 1 and Danish boat Nanoq, owned by HRH Crown Prince Frederik, came fourth.  There were Aussies on each of these boats; Andrew Hudson (Mid Bow for Groovederci) and Paul Westlake (Main Trimmer aboard Nanoq).

Flash Gordon and Plenty came frightfully close to a collision at the top mark in Race 1, which later resulted in a protest.  A heavy pin bias saw major congestion at the pin end of the line, resulting in a long night for the Jury in the Protest office.

Barking Mad was too fast in Races 2 and 3 and lead the way from the start all the way to the finish mark.

The weather conditions today were ideal for Australian boat, Transfusion, however, a problem with the hydraulics, affecting the backstay, had a major impact on their overall speed.

Winds got up to 18 knots providing perfect conditions on the water.

PRO, Peter Reggio “Luigi” set a good racecourse which generally favoured the left side.  There were good starts all day and no general recalls.

Conditions: Mist, fog and cloud with 15-18 knots.

Leaders at the end of Day 3:

    1st – Nightshift (26.0)

    2nd – Enfant Terrible (30.0)

    3rd – Barking Mad (32.0)
