    2013 Rolex Farr 40 Pre-World Championships

Skipper, Alberto Rossi and the team from Enfant Terrible took first place after Day 1 of the Pre-World Championships with two wins and a third place.

It was a glorious day on beautiful Narragansett Bay with temperatures of 24.4 degrees celsius and winds of up to 10-14 knots.  The weather forecast for Day 2 is similar.  Conditions on the water were shifty, favouring the right due to a tidal influence.  The regatta PRO, Peter Reggio set a short start line with a pin end bias making starts crucial to stay inside the top five.  Enfant Terrible had good starts and great speed with a conservative approach.

US boat, Barking Mad is currently sitting in 2nd place, followed by Charisma from Monaco in 3rd.

Australian boat Transfusion is sitting in 8th position, which included a 5th place and two 9th places.

It has been said that it is folklore around here that winning the pre-worlds is a curse for winning the big one, so stay tuned for tomorrow’s results in the lead up to the Worlds commencing 27th August 2013.
