2013 NEB Farr 40 Pre-World Championships
It was another beautiful day in Newport as Day 2 of the Pre-Worlds commenced on Rhode Island Sound. After too many general recalls to count, and over an hour past the first warning signal, Italian boat Enfant Terrible continued on their winning streak taking out first place in Race 1, followed by Flash Gordon in second and Charisma in third.
Australian Boat, Transfusion improved significantly from yesterday’s performance to take out fourth place in Race 1 and third place in Race 2. Skipper, Guido Belgiorno-Nettis is pleased to have recovered to fourth position in the Pre-Worlds and is excited about competitive racing against the best sailors in the world next week.
There was a typical Newport sea breeze of 8-14 knots with breeze shifting up to 20 degrees to the right during Race 1 and shifting back just prior to Race 2.
Overall scores for the 2013 Farr 40 NEB Pre-World Championships:
1st – Enfant Terrible, 2nd – Charisma, 3rd – Barking Mad, 4th – Transfusion.
More updates to follow from the Rolex World Championships to be hosted by the New York Yacht Club, commencing Tuesday, 27 August 2013.
