    Australian Skipper takes out second place at Long Beach Race Week

    Jeff Carter was recently was called in as substitute helmsman on Mick Shlens Blade II and after three days and seven races at Long Beach Race Week, the Australian skipper along with long term Tactician Evan Walker were placed second overall in the Farr 40 division.

    Eight Farr 40s competed including current World Champion Struntje Light owned by Wolfgang Schaeffer.  Familiar rivals, Carter and Schaeffer were neck and neck placed in the top three over all seven races with Struntje narrowly taking the win by just four points.

    Blade II has a wheel and is the oldest yacht in the fleet.  Carter thanked boat captain Mike George and primary trimmer Alan McGlashan from Doyle Sails New Zealand.
