Overnight, the Australian Farr 40 team Transfusion (AUS) have placed fourth overall in the UNO European Farr 40 Championship. Former Farr 40 World Champion Jim Richardson and his Barking Mad (USA) crew claimed overall victory in the prestigious event, which saw all teams slip-up at some point in the testing conditions.

Several Farr 40 enthusiasts have been announced as finalists in the Australian Yachting Awards, including Guido Belgiorno-Nettis, Malcolm Page, Nathan Outteridge and Tom Slingsby nominated in the Male Sailor of the Year category; and Michael Blackburn nominated in the Sport Professional category. Winners will be announced on 28 October.
